Long Pepper, or pippali, comes from a flowering vine native to Indonesia called the Piperaceae, though now these fragrant plants are grown throughout the world. Our long peppers are sourced from Nepal, and they add a beautiful heat and fragrance to food. You’ll find long pepper used often in Indian, Southeast Asian, and African cuisine but is seldom found in European dishes.
